first_imgThe whole country has been dancing to the tunes of the ‘Champion’ song by West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and on Friday he performed it for the first time in front of his Indian fans and stole the show at the dazzling opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League 2016 held at the National Sports Club of India in Mumbai. (IPL opening ceremony)Fans at the sports club witnessed yet another extravagant ceremony this year which also included performances from international superstar Chris Brown and the Major Lazer group. But the loudest cheers were reserved for Bravo, who’s smash hit rap has mesmerized the Indian audience ever since it was first aired on TV and showcased by the West Indian cricketers during the just-concluded World Twenty20.Bollywood playback singer Ankit Tewari crooned alongside Bravo on stage. Adding more flavor to the show were Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez who enthralled the crowd with their dance performances on popular Bollwyood numbers.Bravo was picked up by IPL debutants Gujarat Lions for a whopping Rs 4 crores at the auctions this year and he will now be hoping to come good with his performances on the field for the Suresh Raina-led side as the season kicks-off with Mumbai Indians taking on Rising Pune Supergiants at the Wankhede stadium on Saturday.last_img read more
