Nicholls advances to face No. 3 Northwestern State today at 4 p.m. CT. Two batters later and it was a one-run game after an Ethan Valdez RBI single up the middle, pulling the Colonels to 6-5 with one out and one runner on first. Another single base hit up the middle from Joey Morales put the potential game-winning run on base, followed by Chet Niehaus being hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out. A sac fly from Cody Grosse got Pace to the plate before the inning came to a close and the Lions took a 2-0 lead to the bottom of the fifth. Nicholls’ Xane Washington singled through to shallow left field and advanced to third on a throwing error past third base, giving the Colonels a runner in scoring position with no outs. Koestler and the Lions held off the next two batters but a passed ball on a full count with two outs allowed Washington to make it home and pull the score to 2-1 Lions. Kyle Knauth’s RBI single saw him reach on a fielder’s choice after the throw went past first base, scoring Morales and Valdez for the 7-6 walkoff win.BSB: Here’s the game-winning sequence for @Nicholls_BASE, completing five-run bottom of the 9th rally. After a walk and a hit-by-pitch advanced Daniel Wasinger and Evan Pace, an RBI single from Brennan Breaud sent Wasinger home for a 1-0 lead with one out. After six innings and 89 pitches, Bedevian made way for Christian Bahlinger on the mound. Bedevian struck out two and allowed two earned runs on three hits. Koestler did the same for Peyton Lee at the stretch, having allowed four hits while striking out three on 97 pitches. HARRY KANE has become a global superstar with boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur, although his trajectory to the top of the game wasn’t obvious on his 2011 debut. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a Roy of the Rovers style rise through the ranks at Spurs, going from a little-known, little-trusted burly looking academy striker to one of the most lethal, sought-after forwards in the world.13Natural talent coupled with extraordinary will-power has seen him overcome adversity to become the fearless No10 that would reportedly set any potential suitor back £200million.But before his days of scoring ten goals against rivals Arsenal, or being serenaded with “one of our own” chants from the White Hart Lane faithful, Kane was merely a slightly awkward looking 18-year-old that had spent the previous season on loan at Leyton Orient. All the way back in 2011, Spurs took on Hearts in a Europa League qualifying play-off.With the job already done up in Edinburgh, having secured a 5-0 win, Harry Redknapp wasn’t going to risk any key players for the inconsequential-feeling second leg at White Hart Lane.So with the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale nowhere to be seen, and Rafael Van der Vaart restricted to the bench, Harry Kane made his Spurs debut on August 25, 2011.Things actually got off to an ignominious start, when Kane tamely missed a penalty – with his side going on to draw 0-0 in front of 32,590 fans at the old White Hart Lane.It was a team brimming with academy prospects, with some it’s fair to say, faring better than others. Here, SunSport examine what became of those that took to the field alongside Spurs’ future talisman that night in North London.13 Kane was brought down in the box… but squandered his subsequent spot kickCredit: AFPGK: CARLO CUDICINIThe veteran former Chelsea goalkeeper was signed by Harry Redknapp in January 2009 as competition for the often-blundering Heurelho Gomes. While he rarely threatened to actually take over the Brazilian’s No1 berth, the Italian was regularly handed outings in the cup competitions – including the disastrous 5-1 FA Cup semi-final demolition against his former club in 2012.With Brad Friedel having arrived that summer, and with Hugo Lloris to come the next, his days at White Hart Lane were numbered, and he departed for LA Galaxy in December 2012 having made 37 appearances for Spurs.Cudicini has since £8.5million switch from Manchester City in 2008, but the emergence of Kyle Walker saw his playing time severely limited. After appearing only eight times in the first half of the 2011-12 season, he was sent out on loan to Bayer Leverkusen, before leaving permanently that summer to play for Lokomotiv Moscow. He featured for the final five minutes of his country’s World Cup semi-final victory over most gifted of operators, his work-rate and passion drew respect and adulation from the fans, and he often captained the side during his time in N17.He continued to play for Spurs until 2014, making 324 appearances before departing for Hull City after Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at the club.At 36, he still turns out in the Championship, having returned to his first club Nottingham Forest, while Newcastle United following their relegation in 2009, the Cameroonian is perhaps best remembered at White Hart Lane as the man that scored the club’s first ever Champions League goal. His header against Young Boys in 2010 may have made history, but he struggled to ever really be anything more than a useful utility man at Tottenham, often filling in for any one of the often injured Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate or Younes Kaboul. He left for Norwich in 2012 after making 71 appearances for the Lilywhites. After a spell at Peterborough United, he signed for Greek side FC Volos this season – but having already departed he finds himself a free agent – although at 33 he has not yet retired.13 Bassong made history by scoring Spurs’ first ever Champions League goalCredit: News Group Newspapers flying winger, Townsend had at times featured at left-back in the Spurs youth teams, with Redknapp plonking him there against Hearts as a means of shoehorning him into the XI.He had already represented six different clubs on various loans prior to this point, and that number would grow by three more before he became a regular with Spurs.A bust-up with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner saw him frozen out at White Hart Lane in December 2015, and he left for Newcastle the next month after 93 appearances for his boyhood club.Another move followed six months later when Newcastle had been seven England capsCredit: Action Images – ReutersLM: TOM CARROLLTim Sherwood once said of Carroll: “He could play for them [Barcelona], no question.”And while that may have been fanciful, there was genuine excitement as Carroll was progressing through the ranks at Spurs. Some of the more wishful fans dubbed the Watford-born youngster a “mini-Modric”, with his slight frame and technical ability on the ball. But he never quite forced his will on the Spurs first-team, and found himself dipping in and out of contention over the next five years – sometimes appearing to randomly return to the fold.He made 30 appearances for Spurs as recently as the 2015-16 season under Pochettino – but finally departed for Swansea in January 2017.Things started well enough at the Liberty Stadium, but following their relegation – his spell in Wales went badly wrong. He left for a fresh start at Aston Villa on loan in January last year, but was limited to just 35 minutes of action due to a hip complaint.Upon It is not clear when the haircut took place, but it will likely cause even more consternation if it indeed occurred between the Spurs squad’s coronavirus tests and their return to training – putting the Ivorian’s team-mates at risk.Aurier, wearing his team-mate Davinson Sanchez’s Colombia shirt, posed on a seat with another man stood directly behind him.In the first photo, he has his hands together, then points to the camera and finally lowers his head to show off the fade and design in his hair.He captioned the post: “Yes Sir @justscuts #LeCoiffeurEstBon,” with the hashtag translating to “the hairdresser is good”.He was spotted wearing the same Colombia shirt while driving into Tottenham’s training ground earlier in the day.And also yesterday, Aurier posted a video of himself kicking a ball, as Spurs players returned to the training ground for solo sessions. He captioned it: “Resumption of work… it’s almost time.”LATEST BREACHThe latest Instagram post comes less than a month after he and Moussa Sissoko were forced to apologise for breaking lockdown rules.Aurier shared a video of himself wearing a mask while training with fellow Tottenham man Sissoko on social media before swiftly deleting it.In a joint statement, the pair said: “We wish to apologise for not setting the right example here.”We recognise that as professional footballers we have a responsibility to be role models, particularly during this uncertain period that everyone around the world is facing.””We must all respect the government advice to minimise the number of lives lost during this pandemic.”We cannot thank NHS staff enough for their tireless work at this time and we shall both be making a financial donation to show our support for their efforts.”3 Aurier was snapped arriving at Spurs training on Tuesday wearing the same Colombia jerseyCredit: ReutersMOST READ IN FOOTBALLTHROUGH ITRobbie Keane reveals Claudine’s father was ’50-50′ in coronavirus battleTOP SELLERGavin Whelan has gone from League of Ireland to David Beckham’s InstagramI SAW ROORodallega saw Rooney ‘drinking like madman’ & Gerrard ‘on bar dancing shirtless’PicturedAN EYEFULMeet Playboy model and football agent Anamaria Prodan bidding to buy her own clubExclusiveRIYAD RAIDMan City’s Riyad Mahrez has three luxury watches stolen in £500,000 raidNEXT STEPJonny Hayes set to move to English Championship having been let go by CelticKEANE DEALEx Man United youth ace David Jones says Roy Keane negotiated a contract for himREF RELEASEDChampions League ref Vincic released by cops after arrest in prostitution raidAnd this was not the first time that Aurier had got himself into trouble, after filming himself running with a friend a fortnight before.Spurs also drew criticism when manager Mourinho was pictured holding a training session in a park. And when Sanchez was snapped jogging with Ryan Sessegnon.Serge Aurier denies claims he spat at Tottenham fans while celebrating goal in win over Olympiakos SERGE AURIER has defended breaking lockdown rules by getting his hair cut – but still faces a grilling from Tottenham for his behaviour.Aurier posted a picture of himself and his barber after getting a trim, breaking the government social distancing guidelines just as Spurs returned to training.3 Serge Aurier arrived for training today after breaching lockdown rules for a third timeCredit: Reuters3 Serge Aurier took to Instagram to show off his haircut – but appears to have broken social distancing rules againCredit: InstagramIt is the third time the former Paris Saint-Germain has got into trouble with the national rules aiming to prevent the spread of Covid-19.The 27-year-old trained as usual today as Jose Mourinho’s squad began getting ready for Project Restart. But the right-back will now be asked to explain himself over why he felt the need to get his hair cut at a time when hairdressers have been ordered to remain closed until July.Aurier attempted to pass off any criticism being aimed at him by insisting there was no danger because both he and his barber were clear of coronavirus. He wrote on Instagram: “My hairdresser is negative and me too so stop talking in a vacuum and put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training center (sic), it’s part of the rules too.”A Tottenham statement said: “We are investigating the circumstances and will deal with the incident appropriately.”
Eben Etzebeth will continue as the Springboks stand-in captain for the Rugby Championship. The 26-year-old lock had already replaced Whiteley as skipper for the last of the three tests against France in June when the loose forward was ruled out of action with a groin injury.Whiteley is not likely to be back before the end of September, which means Etzebeth could be captain for at least five of the six Springbok fixtures in this year’s southern hemisphere championship, starting with the home clash against Argentina in Port Elizabeth on August 19th.”Eben did an excellent job against France in Johannesburg, when he had to step in at short notice after the late withdrawal of Warren. He enjoys the respect of his team mates and also commands respect on and off the field,” said Springbok coach Allister Coetzee.Etzebeth debuted for the Springboks aged 20 and has won a total of 57 caps. Loose forward Siya Kolisi has been named vice-captain.South Africa play Argentina away on August 26th in Salta in their second game in the Rugby Championship and then travel to Australia and New Zealand for tests in Perth on September 9th and Auckland on September 16th.Their last two matches are home to Australia in Bloemfontein on September 30 and New Zealand in Cape Town on October 7. The PGA Champion took advantage of the scoring-friendly conditions at Kapalua Resort to mix six birdies with an eagle, with a final-hole gain doubling his cushion over the chasing pack.Ryan Moore also birdied the last to join Jim Herman and Justin Thomas on six under, with Daniel Berger and Jason Dufner part of the group a further shot off the pace.Defending champion Jordan Spieth made a slow start to his year with a one-under 72, with only five players in the 32-man field not to post an under-par round.Walker followed birdies at the second and fourth with a 40-foot gain at the par-five next, before picking up another shot at the sixth to move ahead of early pacesetter Cody Gribble.Herman kicked off his back nine with a close-range birdie to join Walker on five under, with Berger reaching the turn in 31 to briefly make it a three-way tie at the top.Another short gain from Herman at the 13th lifted him in to top spot, only for Walker to match it and also post a six-foot birdie at the next before nudging home at the par-five last.Moore threatened the outright lead with two eagles in his first four holes and another birdie at the par-five ninth, while Thomas recovered from a slow start to post a hat-trick of gains around the turn on his way to an opening 67.Dustin Johnson and in-form Hideki Matsuyama carded matching 69s to sit inside the top 10, with Jason Day slipping a further shot adrift alongside Patrick Reed after a three-putt bogey at the 18th.Watch the SBS Tournament of Champions throughout the week live on Sky Sports – your home of golf.
